In house critique and an evening with the Nature Group
Since the last post we have enjoyed two evenings, one a nice gentle in house critique for some of our member's images and the following week an evening with the Nature Group.
Dave Silk hosted the in house critique evening giving those who had submitted images for scrutiny some valuable advice in a less pressured environment than during competitions !! He also asked everyone to give their comments and views on each of the images, which was a great chance to give our own opinions on what we liked. All in all a great evening and certainly seemed to be more relaxed than when judges are there, as it is always more intense when we are being scored !!
Thanks very much to Dave for his gentle critique and valuable insight for improving our images ready for competitions. No doubt we will see some of the ones submitted in future competitions.
The following week we were treated to an evening with the Nature Group and John Draper took the lead in giving a little introduction on the group, showing some images from a few of the members which gave an idea of the variety of work and then giving us a great talk about the birds that can be seen on the coast walk between Minnis Bay and Reculver Towers, via Plum Pudding Island and the Salt Water Lagoon. Sea birds such as Brent Geese, Herring Gulls, Oystercatchers, Turnstones, Dunlins and Sanderlings and other birds such as Kestrels and even Owls over the working oyster farm at the Reculver end.

It certainly is a lovely walk along the path from Minnis to Reculver and you can get some great images of the birds and also some great landscape and seascape images.
Thanks John for a great evening!
